Current Opportunities:

The McGregor Clinic, Inc, a nonprofit primary care clinic for persons with HIV is seeking a LPN with experience or a strong interest in HIV. We provide primary and HIV care to 900+ clients as well as supportive social services and community education. This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week. The clinic is open M-TH from 8-5 and Fri from 8-12, no hospital hours. On Call is available for premium pay after training completed. Each medical department employee will also assist with one late clinic per month till 7 PM (scheduled in advance). Average client appt time is 30 minutes.

This is a “stand-alone” Ryan White funded clinic that provides medical care, medical and non-medical case management, food pantry and clothes closet. Our Prevention department provides community education, outreach and on-site and mobile testing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Chart Prep.
  2. Refills.
  3. Referrals.
  4. Provide education to the patients.
  5. Coordinate with the case managers.
  6. Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies and notifying the appropriate staff.
  7. Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  8. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  9. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  10. Completes other duties as assigned by Supervisor as needed.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  1. Knowledge of HIPAA Rules and Regulations.
  2. Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office 2003 or later, Windows XP or 7 or later, Practice Management Software).
  3. Knowledge of medical office procedures.
  4. Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment.
  5. Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system.
  6. Skill in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
  7. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  8. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.
  9. Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
  10. Must be able to work in a faced paced environment.

EDUCATION: LPN Licensed and active in the state of Florida.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Occasional overtime may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business needs dictate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing and walking associated with a normal office environment. Some lifting required. Manual dexterity needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard. Ability to pick up to 15 lbs.

Experience:

  • Nursing: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Acute Care: 1 year (Preferred)

Language: Haitian Creole (Preferred), Spanish (Preferred).

License/Certification: BLS Certification (Preferred), LPN License (Required).

Ability to Commute: Fort Myers, FL 33901 (Required)

Ability to Relocate: Fort Myers, FL 33901: Relocate before starting work (Required)
