Lee Health and UnitedHealthcare: What McGregor Clinic Patients Need to Know
Lee Health has announced that its current agreements with UnitedHealthcare are scheduled to end on December 31, 2026. Beginning January 1, 2027, Lee Health hospitals and physicians may be out of network for certain UnitedHealthcare employer-based, individual, and Medicare Advantage plans unless a new agreement is reached.
We know this kind of news can raise questions, especially when you’re managing your health care in Southwest Florida. Here’s what this means — and doesn’t mean — for your care at The McGregor Clinic.
Is The McGregor Clinic Part of Lee Health?
No. The McGregor Clinic is an independent nonprofit and is not affiliated with Lee Health. The changes to Lee Health’s UnitedHealthcare agreements do not apply to our clinic, our providers, or our services.
Will My Appointments at The McGregor Clinic Be Affected?
No. Your scheduled appointments remain confirmed. This announcement does not cancel, change, or interrupt any care you are receiving at The McGregor Clinic.
Does The McGregor Clinic Accept UnitedHealthcare?
If you have questions about your specific insurance coverage at The McGregor Clinic, please contact our office and our team can help verify your benefits. We see patients regardless of insurance status, and our case management team can help you explore coverage options if your plan changes.
What if I Also Receive Care Through Lee Health?
If you receive care from both The McGregor Clinic and a Lee Health provider, the potential changes would only affect your Lee Health services. We recommend contacting Lee Health or UnitedHealthcare directly for details about how their agreement may impact your other care:

- UnitedHealthcare: uhc.com
What Should I Do Right Now?
If your care is with The McGregor Clinic, there’s nothing you need to do. Your appointments and services continue as planned. If you have questions or want to verify your coverage, our team is here to help.
